Michael Rogers, vice president communications for the Small Business Association of Michigan, talks with Rich Tegge, president and founder of Wealth Strategy Group in Marquette, about small business retirement plans.

Rich makes three key points: a retirement plan is crucial for recruiting and retaining quality employees, you need to understand the retirement plan options and the cost of the plan that you can offer to your employees, and how important it is to review your retirement plan details and retirement plan regulations every one to three years.

Three key takeaways: first, it’s not just hackers – much of the time, an information security breach is due to employee error. Second, it’s state law that if there is a data breach, you are required to notify all your customers and provide credit monitoring to those affected. And third, there are considerable benefits to purchasing liability insurance for data breaches.
